Expert knowledge and innovations in the field of turning

From March 26 through 29, INDEX Group is again inviting all existing and potential customers to its plant in Reichenbach, where it will be presenting a wide range of innovations relating to the subject of turning at the Open House 2019. Visitors will experience the new, digital INDEX world “iXworld”, which extends beyond technical functions into the service and organization field and promises swift economic benefits. More than 20 state-of-the-art turning machines can be seen in action demonstrating their strengths, and INDEX experts will use talks and one-on-one discussions to show how modern machining technologies can be deployed profitably.

Digitization is advancing in all areas. At the Open House, INDEX is bringing the latest developments in its cloud-based iXworld platform to life. It comprises the iXplore, iXshop, iXservices, and iX4.0 modules, which can be used to access digital support for the entire process chain – from obtaining information during the purchase of a machine, on the operation and status of the machine, and all the way to service and spare parts procurement.

Advancing digitization and automation can also be experienced in the more than 20 machines on display, which represent the state of the art and open up new perspectives for the future. The INDEX C200 shows just how far the automation offering has progressed. The automatic production lathe – in a new, user-friendly design – will be shown with the iXcenter robot cell including vertical pallet storage, which,.like other automation equipment, can optionally be integrated in various INDEX and TRAUB production machines.

Universal turning at the highest level
One of the highlights at the Open House 2019 is the INDEX B400 universal lathe, which is designed for precise and powerful machining of customized flange and shaft parts. It is now also available with a counter spindle – for even more flexibility and high-precision machining.

The TRAUB TNA400 universal lathe, which is largely identical in design to the INDEX B400, will be presented to all users and potential customers of TRAUB machines fitted with Mitsubishi controls. It, too, ensures powerful cutting and comprehensive machining options.

The other exhibits reflect the well-known diversity of INDEX and TRAUB solutions, including multi-spindle automatic lathes that guarantee high productivity at low unit costs, bush-type lathes for precision machining of complex workpieces, and the new generation of INDEX G-series turn-mill centers for maximum flexibility and demanding machining tasks.

The accompanying exhibition of just under 30 partner companies also features some of the latest innovations. In addition, machining experts will speak every day on fascinating topics such as dynamics in the machining process, iX4.0 production, the iXshop – procurement 4.0, the INDEX CAD-CAM-CNC process chain, and both automation solutions and process integration. Further INDEX experts will be on hand at the get-together in the Technology Lounge to discuss topics such as high-speed whirling, gearing technologies, in-process grinding, and polygon turning. Plant tours and an evening event on Thursday, 2019-03-28, will round off the event.
